What does your vacay look like?
It’s 3 months down the new year (well, not so new anymore) and everyone around you is already exhausted. From students to working adults, this March was not merry to all. But hey! Don't worry, we've got you covered.
With the mercury rising to an unprecedented high and probably an all-time low in your bank account (psst psst…'tis the season of taxation hohoho!) here is a list of few places you can visit to relax, without burning a hole in your pocket!
Kulcha Land…. Amritsar
If you're forever hungry like I, then well Amritsar is your calling. This city is a delight for all food lovers. Taste the best North Indian, Punjabi cuisine cooked in pure ghee with the right amount of tadka. The dhaba culture will definitely make you a food addict (if already not).
Moipot recommends: Lassi, flavored lassi, gud ka halwa (served hot), kulcha and paraanthe makkhan maarke.
Whether religious or not, one should pay a visit to the Golden Temple if in the city. The langar and Khara prasaad served at the temple sit just perfectly to make you feel satiated with simplicity.

Ayee kothai Chalo tumhi...? only true answer should be- Kolkatta
Ever heard of this saying, "Spicier the food, sweeter tastes the dessert!", not? Because I just made this up…this statement sums up Kolkata's food experience for me. From the famous Bengali local dishes to the sweetest of the sweet rosogulla and mishit doi, isn't your mouth already watering?
Moipot recommends: Hing-er-Kochuri, Mung Dal Kachuri, Rosogullas, Rosho- Malai, Kesar Raj bhog, Indrani, Mishti Doi, Nolen Gur Sandesh, Madhuparka, Singhara…

Khaana nai hai? Koini, jugaad kar lenge… only at Delhi
"Yeh sheher nahi, Mehfil hai!" This metro is the perfect combination of the right food at the right place. Delhi is the heart (read: haat) of our country and no one should stay any less content at the heart, hence all the options. The only solace for some to get into carefree indulgence is the distance between the places serving the different items, walk it up and eat more merrily.
Moipot recommends: Chawla Ji Ke Chur Chur Naan, Dolma Aunty Moos, DePaul's coffee, haldiram's Chat Centre, Chandini Chowk- Paraanthe Waali Galli, Mattar Samosa, Paneer Jalebi, Soya Chaap….

Chala aata, lavkar kara, train miss honar… Mumbai

The abode to many yet not all cuisines, this city has a plethora of options to explore. Satiate your sweet tooth and spicy tongue at the same spot and never regret a single moment while enjoying every bite.
Moipot recommends: Vada Pav, Dosas, Ice Halwa, Pani Puri, Bhel and other chat items, Ice Goals, Chuski, sandwiches, masala papad….

Kempegowda International Airport welcomes you…...!??? Chill, that's Bangalore or Bengaluru or Luru Land
Call it anything you may please to but Bangalore (as I love calling it) will take you to surprise anytime (read: every time). This cosmopolitan city is a food and beverages (we all know what) heaven. You'll find everything, absolutely everything here. Be it the almost authentic idlis from Taaza thindi to the oh so very very bitter coffee from MTR's kitchen and the even oh so freshly brewed, ahem "Beverage" ranging from the "King of Birds" to "the best Bud". Bangalore is nothing less than a meze platter for one.
Moipot recommends: Iyengar Bakery's cake, Taaza Thindi breakfast, Breweries at Indiranagar and even the long spread of street food at V V Puram Street.

Heard of Induben and Falguni Pathak? That's because you're in Gujju-Land! Ahmedabad
Start your day with a plate full of hot piping faafda and jalebis and end it with hot and piping faafda jalebis and rabdi. The place where the adjective "soft" does not restrict to textiles only but to their dhoklas as well. Ahmedabad is a city of ardent food lovers and no one here will ever settle for the plate served without, "Arrrrey, ajhi lo ne bhai/ben etc" OR "Hello! How are? Khaana khaake jaana haan'' Visit this city and eat at places where Amdavadis love to flock at.
Moipot recommends: Khaakra and its types, dhokla, khandvi, dalvada and chutney, jalebi and faafda, handvo, kulfi…

Chalo musafir, kahi unn pahado ke beech chalein…Dharamshala, Dalhousie, McLeodganj
The towns where everything is local and of quality unbeatable. Where else will you get to eat bread that is cooked right in front of you, where every sip of the winter-friendly chai is infused with all the goodness of "elaichi and ginger". The three destinations are a package, and neither should be missed when you visit either (Wow! Quite a mouthful.)
Moipot recommends: The good old chai (from literally anywhere, tip: ask for pepper to keep the cold at bay), Momos, Kewa Datshu, Ema Datshu, Thukpa, Thai curry, and coal flavor infused white/brown/fried rice.

Sambhar ilayy, only rasam! Chennai
Last on the list and probably even a shock to many is this city of authentic Idli, and rasam. Wait, where's the sambhar? Sambhar my friends, is just a myth, it's not even an actual serving in the South! But don't worry, the oozing ghee and podi chutney make you forget about this not-so-authentic,
yet almost authentic addition made unauthentically to this authentic family!
Moipot recommends: Jigar Thanda, Idli, Uttapam, Desi Pak (mithai), jackfruit chips, rasam, lemon tea, spicy buttermilk, neer kheer….
